These European rap songs from the ’80s will make your day

The ’80s were a crazy time, man.

These guys are from the Netherlands.  According to Wikipedia, Holiday Rap topped the German charts for five weeks in 1986.  It also cracked the Canadian Top 10.

Apparently, Miker and Sven had a formula:  Take a popular song, rap over it, call it “(name of popular song) Rap.”   They followed up Holiday Rap with Celebration Rap which was taken from Kool and the Gang’s 1980 hit.

Celebration Rap was not a hit.

Their Wikipedia page says Sven hosts a radio show in Holland and is still DJing in clubs.  It doesn’t say anything about Miker G. We’re worried, Miker.  Call  us.
