Good news! You’re not going to get fat this holiday season… at least not as quickly as you think.
For years, we’ve heard Americans gain an average of 5-10 lbs during the holidays. The folks at the New England Journal of Medicine say it’s more like a pound. But here’s the problem: They also say you never lose that pound. So, fast forward 30 Thanksgivings and you understand why your Uncle Jim looks the way he does.
Instead of wasting our time with “5 tips to avoid overeating,” the smart kids at the American Chemical Society made this video showing what actually inside our bodies when we overeat. So, at least we know and like G.I. Joe said, that’s half the battle.
